Engine Torque Control

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Engine torque can be controlled with air, fuel and spark timing. The most effective is air restriction. An adjuster assembly (cable extension mechanism) closes throttle during control modes, provides driver with pedal feedback during adverse road conditions and reduces engine torque. Fast engine torque reductions can be accomplished using spark retard to increase driver comfort and vehicle stability.
