Code 72 - EBTCM Serial Data Link

Serial data link is an asynchronous link operating at 8192 bits per second. SERVICE ASR indicator light will illuminate and Code 72 will be set if EBTCM detects 3 consecutive serial data link messages being ignored due to errors in transmission.

1. Checks if off-board device can communicate with EBTCM. If CCM cannot communicate with EBTCM, it will display "Err" when EBTCM is selected for Code display. See ENTERING DIAGNOSTICS (MANUAL DIAGNOSTIC MODE) under CENTRAL CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTICS.
2. Checks for short to battery voltage in ABS/ASR serial data circuit.
3. Checks for short to ground in ABS/ASR serial data circuit.
4. Checks for open in ABS/ASR serial data circuit.
5. Checks if off-board device can communicate with EBTCM.
6. If connections at EBTCM and DLC connector are okay, replace EBTCM.
