Cruise Control System - Vacuum Servo (3.8L): Testing: Notes

NOTE: For cruise control system wiring diagram, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.

Check IGN (15-amp) fuse located in convenience center. Check for bare, broken or disconnected wires. Check for pinched, damaged, crossed or disconnected vacuum hoses. Ensure servo and throttle linkages operate freely. If cruise operation is erratic, check for continuity to ground at ground stud under coil pack. See Fig 1 . Tighten stud nut to 12 ft. lbs. (16 N.m). Test or trouble shoot cruise control system using CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK chart.
