Diagnostic Request Line Method

  1. With ignition off, install jumper wire between pin "H" (White/Tan wire) and pin "A" (Black/White wire) of Assembly Line Data Link (ALDL) connector.
  2. The ALDL connector is located below left side of instrument panel, near steering column. See Figure. Turn ignition on. SERVICE ABS light should begin flashing.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire for approximately one second, then reconnect jumper wire for at least one second.
  4. Repeat step 3) 4 times within 10 seconds, leaving jumper wire connected after the fourth time. Ensure SERVICE ABS light indicates Code 12 only. If all trouble codes have not been cleared, repeat procedure.
CAUTION: Once all trouble codes are cleared, wait at least 15 seconds before turning ignition off. Once repairs have been made and codes cleared, verify vehicle operation.
