Alternator - 1.8L Diesel: Overhaul: Reassembly

  1. To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure, noting the following: Protect parts when resoldering connections by using needle nose pliers as a heat sink.
  2. To protect oil seal in rear end housing, apply tape to rear end of stator shaft when installing rear end housing. After installing pulley, tighten pulley nut to 33-43 ft. lbs. (48-62 N.m). Check shaft rotation freedom after tightening through bolts.
