Components & Functions: Aspirator
To provide accurate sensing of interior temperature, a small amount of air is drawn into the in-car sensor housing and passed over the thermistor. This air movement is accomplished by the use of an aspirator mounted on the programmer chassis, and a rubber hose that connects the in-car sensor housing to the aspirator. The aspirator is a tube-within-a-tube arrangement. By the blower forcing ambient air through the inner tube, a slight suction is created at the tube to the in-car sensor which draws in the sample of air, allowing the in-car sensor to determine interior air temperature.
