Installing & Using Automatic Temperature Control Tester J-22368
When in AUTOMATIC position, this tester may be used to perform Comfortron system checks without disturbing normal car operation. Tester allows operator to hold a predetermined blower speed and temperature when tester is set to MANUAL control. The tester can also be used to measure external system voltages by using the probe. Install tester as follows:
- Install J-23471 wire into vacant connectors on Tester Adapter Harness J-23124. If this wire not available, a 6" piece of wire with male and female connector may be used. Wire may be left in harness as an assembly. Testing of 1970 Comfortron systems will not be affected.
- Remove five terminal male connector from Amplifier on left hand side of Comfortron control head and plug connector into five terminal female connector (with green wire) of the Tester harness.
- Plug remaining five terminal male connector of Tester into the amplifier on control head and plug the adapter harness into Tester harness. Attach black ground lead to any good ground point in car.
- Remove glove box interior. Remove large Transducer vacuum hose from "T" connection and install it on the Tester vacuum hose nipple, then connect Tester vacuum hose (short hose) to Transducer hose "T" connection. See illustrations.
