Installation Procedure

Clean the contact surfaces between the power transfer unit and the transmission.

Install a NEW power transfer unit face seal (1).
Support the power transfer unit with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.
Raise and align the power transfer unit the correct position in relation to the transmission.

Install the power transfer unit (1) to the transmission.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the 3 power transfer unit bolts (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

Install the power transfer unit bolt (1) and tighten to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

Connect the power transfer unit vent hose (2) to the power transfer unit case (3).

Connect all electrical connectors and wiring harness retainers to the power transfer unit.
