Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power transfer unit drain plug (2) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  2. Fill the power transfer unit to the bottom of the power transfer unit fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , or Approximate Fluid Capacities 
  3. Install the power transfer unit fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
  4. Install the power transfer unit heat shield. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement
