Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9) .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the engine harness connector (1) and remove the B + generator protective boot (4).

  5. Remove the fastener (3) and the engine harness battery positive terminal (2), from the back of the generator.
  6. Remove the generator mounting fasteners (1) and the engine harness bracket retainer (4).

  7. Remove the generator mounting fastener (2) and the generator mounting stud (3).
  8. Remove the generator (1) from the engine compartment.
