Installation Procedure

  1. Transfer the rear side door inside handle cable. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Cable Replacement .
  2. Transfer the front side door outside handle cable. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Cable Replacement .
  3. Install the outside handle bracket (1) and the rear side door latch (2) assembly in the vehicle.

  4. Install four bolts (1) to the rear side door latch and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Install and torque the four latch bolts in proper sequence to prevent damage to the latch mechanism.

  5. Install the rear side door outside handle bracket screw. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Bracket Replacement .
  6. Install the rear side door outside handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement .
  7. Connect the rear side door latch electrical connector.
  8. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the luminous reflecting light, if equipped.

  9. Install the rear side door locking rod. Refer to Rear Side Door Locking Rod Knob Replacement .
  10. Install the rear side door window rear channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Rear Channel Replacement .
  11. Inspect the door latch and the outside handle for proper operation before install the door trim.
  12. Install the water deflector.
  13. Install the rear side door armrest plate bolts and plate to the inner door panel.
  14. Install the rear side door trim. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Replacement .
