Installation Procedure

  1. Fig 1: Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Tightening Sequence

    Position the fuel injection fuel rail assembly (2) into the cylinder head as evenly as possible.

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    The final pass should be performed in the sequence shown in the graphic.

  2. To install the fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1), perform the following steps:
    1. First Pass: Start ALL bolts by hand, but do NOT tighten.
    2. Second Pass: Tighten the outer two bolts by hand.
    3. Third Pass: Tighten the inner two bolts by hand.
    4. Final Pass: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  3. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Install NEW - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement 
  4. GM4299093

    Electrical Connector(1)@Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Wiring Harness(2) - Connect

  5. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
