Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Remove the engine control module and reposition the electrical connectors. Engine Control Module Replacement (LF3) 
  3. Remove and DISCARD the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement (LF3) 
  4. Remove and DISCARD the fuel feed pipe. Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (At Tank AWD) Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (LF3 At Engine) 
  5. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector from the fuel pump.

    CAUTION:

    Alternately loosen the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully disengaged from fuel pump lifter follower. Trying to remove the pump bolts without even side-to-side loosening may result in pump plunger damage

  6. Remove and DISCARD the fuel pump bolts (1).
  7. Remove the fuel pump (2).
  8. Remove the valve lifter follower (3).
  9. Remove and DISCARD the fuel pump gasket (4).
  10. Remove and DISCARD the fuel pump O-ring (5).
