Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. If you are replacing the battery with a serviced NEW battery, detach the vent plug (1), that comes with the positive post cover.

  2. Install the vent plug (1), opposite side of the battery vent hose (2).

  3. Battery (1)» Install

  4. Battery Vent Tube (2)» Engage (2)

  5. Battery Hold Down Retainer (3)» Install
  6. Battery Hold Down Bolt (1)» Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution
  7. Spare Wheel Carrier Bracket (2)» Install

  8. Spare Wheel Stowage Bracket Bolt (1)» Install and tighten [2x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
  9. Battery Positive Cable (3)» Install

  10. Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (1)» Tighten 6 N.m (53 lb in)
  11. Battery Positive Post Cover (2)» Install
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
  13. Spare Tire (2)» Install

  14. Spare Tire Stowage Retainer (1)» Hand tighten
  15. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim» Install - Rear Compartment Front Trim Replacement (Without HP9)
