Alternate Method - If a scan tool is not available

  1. Disable the fuel pump by removing the B+ fuel pump control module fuse. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views and/or Electrical Center Identification Views .
  2. Start the vehicle and allow the engine to idle until the engine stops. The engine will stop in approximately 5-20 seconds.
  3. Attempt to restart the vehicle to ensure pressure has dropped to a minimal level.
  4. Turn the ignition OFF.
