Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    To perform this procedure the latch and bracket assembly Must be out of the vehicle to replace the side door lock cylinder assembly.

  1. Remove the front side door latch and side door outside handle bracket assembly as one. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Rod

    NOTE:

    Do not disconnect the inside or outside handle cable to replace the side door lock cylinder.

  2. Disconnect the front side door lock cylinder rod (1) from the cylinder.

  3. Use a suitable tool, push inward on the retaining tabs (1), located on the top and bottom of the lock cylinder (2).

  4. Remove the front side door lock cylinder (1) from the side front door outside handle bracket assembly (2).
  5. Remove the side door handle bracket locator (3).
