Installation Procedure

  1. Push forward the front battery tray bracket (3) and install the battery (1) into position using the battery assist handles (2).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the battery hold down bracket (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the battery vent hose (3) to the side of the battery.

  4. Install the battery fuse block (2) to the battery and tighten the battery positive fuse block clamp fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the battery positive cable (7) to the battery fuse block stud and tighten the fastener (1) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  6. Attach the battery positive cable retainer (6) to the battery hold down bracket.
  7. Close the fuse block cover.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  9. Install the left side rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Sedan with AM9)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Sedan except AM9)Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Coupe) .
