Circuit/System Testing

  1. Inspect the AM antenna plate for proper mounting and damage.
    • If issues are found 

      Repair or replace as necessary

    • If no issues are found 
  2. Inspect the AM antenna harness connection to the K46 Radio Antenna Module.
    • If issues are found 

      Repair or replace as necessary

  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the AM/FM 1 antenna coax cable from the A11 Radio and from the K46 Radio Antenna Module.
  4. Verify the antenna coax cable passes the coax cable component test. Refer to Component Testing.
    • If the coax cable does not pass the test 

      Replace the antenna coax cable

    • If the coax cable passes the test 
  5. Connect the AM/FM 1 antenna coax cable to the A11 Radio. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
  6. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the antenna coax cable center terminal and ground at the K46 Radio Antenna Module connector.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • If the test lamp illuminates 
  7. Ignition OFF, disconnect the FM 2 antenna coax cable from the A11 Radio and from the T4R Radio Antenna - Right.
  8. Verify the antenna coax cable passes the coax cable component test. Refer to Component Testing.
    • If the coax cable does not pass the test 

      Replace the antenna coax cable

    • If the coax cable passes the test 
  9. Connect the FM 2 antenna coax cable to the A11 Radio. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
  10. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the antenna coax cable center terminal and ground at the T4R Radio Antenna - Right connector.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate 

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • If the test lamp illuminates 
  11. Replace the K46 Radio Antenna Module.
  12. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
  13. Verify station reception is normal when tuned to several known good AM and FM stations.
    • If reception is poor. 
    1. Replace the T4R Radio Antenna - Right.
    2. Ignition ON, infotainment system ON.
    3. Verify station reception is normal when tuned to several known good AM and FM stations.
      • If reception is poor, replace the A11 Radio.
      • If reception is normal
    4. All OK.
    • If reception is normal 
  14. All OK.
