Circuit/System Verification

  1. With the ignition ON, engine OFF, command the powertrain relay ON and OFF several times using the scan tool output control function, engine controls ignition relay selection. You should either hear or feel the relay click with each command.
  2. With the ignition ON, engine OFF, probe both test points of each of the fuses supplied with voltage by the powertrain relay.
    • The test lamp should illuminate on at least one test point of each fuse. If the test lamp does not illuminate continue with Circuit/System Testing.
  3. Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTCs P0685 or P0690 should not set.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
