Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. If installing the old sensor, coat the threads with sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent.
  2. Install the ECT sensor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the sensor to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the ECT sensor (3).
  4. Position the engine wiring harness thermal tube (1) over the ECT sensor.
  5. Inspect and re-fill the cooling system as required. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) .

  6. Install the front compartment sight shields as necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement .
