Circuit/System Testing
- Close all doors, with a scan tool verify the door ajar switch parameters are all closed.
- Ignition OFF, Disconnect the APP relay.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit terminal A1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the control circuit terminal A2 and ground.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to voltage.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal C1 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the B+ circuit fuse is open, test the control circuit terminal A2 for a short to ground.
- Connect a 60A fused jumper wire between the B+ circuit terminal C1 and the control circuit terminal A2.
- Remove the FLDG TOP/TRUNK LATCH Fuse.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between the FLDG TOP/TARUNK LATCH Fuse and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal C2 and the ground circuit terminal A1.
- Close all doors, cycle the ignition key to the RUN position, test lamp should illuminate. Cycle ignition to the OFF position, wait approximately 10 seconds, test lamp should remain illuminated. Open the driver door, test lamp should turn OFF.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the APP relay.
