Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the electrical connector on the switch.
  2. Align the brake panel position switch to the stud (3).
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolt (1) securing the brake panel position switch to the brake panel bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the driver side I/P insulator closeout panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  5. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration Description and Operation .
