Removal Procedure
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure
in Engine Electrical.
- Drain the coolant system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement
in Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2).
- Remove the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement
in Engine Controls - 4.6L (LH2).
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet
in Engine Cooling.

- Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose. Refer to Surge Tank Hose/Pipe Replacement - Inlet
in Engine Cooling.
- Position both hoses aside in order to gain access.
- Remove the belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement
in Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2).

- Disconnect the brake fluid pressure sensor connector.
- Loosen the two insulator nuts located on each side of the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

- Disconnect and plug the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the master cylinder (1).

- Disconnect and plug the brake pipes that enter the BPMV from the front and rear calipers, noting their locations (1).
- Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) connector.
- Remove the BPMV/EBCM.
