Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step number in the diagnostic procedures.

  1. 4

    This step will determine if any mechanical faults have caused this DTC to set.

  2. 6

    A very small amount of voltage will appear in this circuit when the ECM is operational. This is considered normal.

  3. 7

    The measured resistance of the circuit will increase when the ECM is operational. This is considered normal.

  4. 10

    Disconnecting the ECM connector containing the 5-volt reference circuit of the APP sensor will prevent the engine controls power relay from operating. When testing for a short to voltage on the ECM circuit, this relay should be energized.
