DTC P1554: Powertrain Control Module Detects Cruise Engaged Signal: Description

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has ability to inhibit cruise control operation if conditions exist which would make cruise operation undesirable. Conditions that may inhibit cruise control operation: engine speed too high or low, vehicle speed too high or low, traction control has been active for longer than one second, or vehicle acceleration or deceleration rate is too high. PCM detects a cruise engaged signal from Cruise Control Module (CCM), while inhibiting cruise control operation. PCM will not illuminate Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). PCM will store conditions present when DTC set as failure record data only. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles have occurred without a malfunction. A scan tool can be used to clear DTC.
