Removal & Installation

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove air cleaner assembly. Reposition PCM to create access to BPMV. Raise and support vehicle. Remove lower radiator splash shield and left front wheel well splash shield. Remove 3 EBCM/BPMV assembly-to-bracket nuts. See Figure . Remove 2 lower EBCM-to-BPMV bolts.
  2. Lower vehicle. Disconnect EBCM connector. Remove front insulator and insulator mounting bolt. Remove 2 upper EBCM-to-BPMV bolts. Separate EBCM from BPMV by gently pulling forward. DO NOT pry EBCM from BPMV.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure EBCM electrical connector tab is locked down. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Using scan tool, perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING and check if any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) have been set. Diagnose and repair as necessary.
