Test C: Second Operation Inoperative With Transmitter

  1. If remote keyless entry diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If remote keyless entry diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Move driver seat rearward and outside mirrors outward. Lock vehicle using a switch located inside vehicle. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice within 4 seconds. If all passenger doors unlock, go to step  7 . If all passenger doors do not unlock, go to next step.
  3. Move driver seat rearward and outside mirrors outward. Lock vehicle using a switch located inside vehicle. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice 2-3 seconds apart. If all passenger doors do not unlock, go to next step. If all passenger doors unlock, go to step  7 .
  4. Replace suspect remote transmitter batteries. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER BATTERY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  5. Move driver seat rearward and outside mirrors back to outward positions if they moved in step  2 . Lock vehicle using a switch located inside vehicle. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice 2-3 seconds apart. If all passenger doors unlock, go to step  7 . If all passenger doors do not unlock, go to next step.
  6. Replace remote transmitter. Program transmitter(s). See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  7. Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, testing is complete. If system does not operate normally, go to step  2 .
