Theft Deterrent Module: Removal

  1. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove upper steering column cover. Using a non-marring tool, unscrew steering wheel tilt lever.
  2. Remove rubber protective cover from lock cylinder and lower steering column cover. Remove theft deterrent module. Disconnect wiring harness connector. See Figure.
