Conditions For Clearing DTC
DTC is cleared and MIL, STL and TC indicators are turned off by each module as follows:
- If ECM does not detect malfunction for 3 consecutive drive cycles, current DTC is cleared and MIL is turned OFF. History DTC is cleared if malfunction does not reoccur for 40 consecutive drive cycles. History DTC is cleared if there is a KAM reset (battery disconnected).
- If TCM does not detect malfunction for one drive cycle, current DTC is cleared and STL is turned OFF. History DTC is cleared if malfunction does not reoccur for 40 consecutive drive cycles. DEFAULT MODE transmission control is cancelled when malfunction is not present and ignition switch is off long enough for TCM to power-down and reset.
- If EBCM does not detect malfunction for one drive cycle, current DTC is cleared and TC indicator is turned OFF. History DTC is cleared if malfunction does not reoccur for 100 consecutive drive cycles.
