Test D: Traction Control Indicator Inoperative
- Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Go to next step.
- Check EBCM ground, making sure ground is clean and tight. If problem was found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 9 . If problem was not found, go to next step.
- Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, engine off. Using scan tool, observe TCS WARNING LAMP parameter in DELCO/BOSCH ABS/TCS ICCS (if equipped) data list. If scan tool displays OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display OFF, go to step 5 .
- Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on, engine off. Observe TRACTION CONTROL indicator on Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) during bulb check. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator illuminates during bulb check and then turns off, go to next step. If TRACTION CONTROL indicator does not illuminate during bulb check or does not turn off, go to step 6 .
- Check EBCM connector for poor connections. If problem was found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 9 . If problem was not found, go to step 7 .
- Check IPC connector for poor connections. If problem was found, repair as necessary. After repairs, go to step 9 . If problem was not found, go to step 8 .
- Replace EBCM. See ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Replace IPC. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repairs, go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair.
