DTC B2470: Daytime Running Lights Fault: Testing
- If lighting system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting system has not been performed, go to LIGHTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Remove DRL relay. Relay is located in the underhood relay center. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and DRL relay connector terminal A9 (Pink wire). See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS & DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS article. If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step 5 .
- Install DRL relay. Disconnect PZM connector C2. See Figure . Connect fused jumper between PZM connector C2 terminal D5 (Light Gray/Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If Daytime Running Lights (DRL) turn on, go to next step. If DRL do not turn on, go to step 6 .
- Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Repair open or short to ground in Pink wire between underhood fuse block and underhood relay center. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Check for open in Light Gray/Black wire between PZM and underhood relay center. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found, go to step 8 .
- Replace DRL relay. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in Light Gray/Black wire. After repairs, go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
