DTC B1970: Exterior Light Power Fault: Testing
- If lighting system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting system has not been performed, go to LIGHTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition off. Remove parking light relay and headlight relay. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Disconnect PZM connectors. Using DVOM, check resistance between ground and parking light relay terminal A6 (White wire) at trunk compartment relay center No. 5. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step 4 .
- Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 5 .
- Repair short to ground in White wire between parking light relay and PZM. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all components. Clear DTCs using scan tool. Turn ignition on. Turn headlights on. If headlights do not come on, go to step 2 . If headlights come on, system is functioning normally.
