DTC B1344: HTR/Def/Ac Door Movement Fault: Testing
- If body control system diagnostic check has been performed, go to next step. If body control system diagnostic check has not been performed, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Using scan tool, establish communications with IPM and Recalibrate all actuators. If difference between minimum and maximum counts is 150-220 counts, go to next step. If difference between minimum and maximum counts is not 150-220, go to step 4 .
- Clear all DTCs using scan tool. Operate heater system. If system operates normally, go to step 18 . If system does not operate normally, go to next step.
- Disconnect actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 10 (Gray wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If reading is 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 5 volts, go to step 9 .
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 5 (Brown wire). If reading is 11-14 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 11-14 volts, go to step 9 .
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 7 (Yellow wire). If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is not zero volts, go to step 9 .
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 6 (Yellow wire). If reading is 2.5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 2.5 volts, go to step 9 .
- Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 9 (Yellow/Black wire). If reading is 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 5 volts, go to step 11 .
- Check for open or short in appropriate circuit. If circuits are faulty, go to next step. If circuits are okay, go to step 11 .
- Repair open or short in appropriate circuit. After repairs, go to step 21 .
- Using scan tool, view actuator data. If actuator data displayed is 5 volts or 255 counts, go to next step. If actuator data displayed is not 5 volts or 255 counts, go to step 20 .
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and actuator connector terminal No. 9 (Yellow/Black wire). Using scan tool, view actuator data. If actuator data is zero volts or zero count, go to next step. If actuator data is not zero volts or zero count, go to step 20 .
- Reconnect connector to actuator. Using scan tool, view actuator data. If actuator data is zero or 255 counts, go to step 20 . If actuator data is not zero or 255 counts, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, move actuator to hot and cold positions. If actuator moves to both directions, go to next step. If actuator does not move to both directions, go to step 16 .
- If actuator actual position feedback changed, go to step 21 . If actuator actual position feedback does not change, go to step 19 .
- Backprobe with fused jumper between actuator connector terminals No. 6 (Yellow wire) and No. 10 (Gray wire). If actuator moves, go to next step. If actuator does not move, go to step 18 .
- If actual actuator position feedback changed, go to step 21 . If actual actuator position feedback did not change, go to step 19 .
- Backprobe with fused jumper between actuator connector terminals No. 6 (Yellow wire) and No. 7 (Yellow wire). If actuator moved, go to step 17 . If actuator did not move, go to next step.
- Replace actuator. After replacing actuator, go to step 21 .
- Replace IPM. See INSTRUMENT PANEL INTEGRATION MODULE (IPM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacing IPM, go to next step.
- Reconnect all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
