DTC B1324: A/C Refrigerant OVERPRESSURE: Testing

  1. If body control system diagnostic check has been performed, go to next step. If body control system diagnostic check has not been performed, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Start engine and turn A/C off. View DIM data and A/C PRESSURE status on scan tool. Turn A/C on. If A/C pressure status is HIGH, go to next step. If A/C pressure status is not HIGH, check for intermittent connection or circuit malfunction.
  3. Observe A/C pressure. Install A/C Pressure Gauges (J 39183-C) and compare readings to value on scan tool. If scan tool and gauges are within 10 psi (.70 kg/cm2 ) of each other, repair as necessary. See SEVILLE article in AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS. If scan tool and gauges are not within 10 psi (.70 kg/cm2 ) of each other, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect A/C pressure sensor. Observe A/C pressure status on scan tool. If scan tool status changes, go to next step. If status does not change, go to step  6 .
  5. Check for poor connections at A/C refrigerant pressure sensor connector. If connection is faulty, repair as necessary. If connections are okay, replace A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. After repairs, go to step  7 .
  6. Check for poor connections at DIM connector. If connection is faulty, repair as necessary. If connections are okay, replace DIM. See DASH INTEGRATION MODULE (DIM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  7. Reconnect all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
