DTC B2473: High Beam Output Fault: Testing

  1. Turn headlight switch on. Remove high/low beam headlamp relay from underhood relay center. Use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and high/low headlamp relay connector terminal C9 (Orange/Black wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step  6 .
  2. Use DVOM to measure voltage between high/low headlamp relay connector terminals C9 (Orange/Black wire) and D7 (Black/White wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step  4 .
  3. Replace high/low headlamp relay. After repairs, recheck headlight operation.
  4. Check for open in Black/White wire between PZM and high/low headlamp relay. If faulty circuit is found, go to next step. If circuit is okay, go to step  7 .
  5. Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, recheck headlight operation.
  6. Repair open or short to ground in Orange wire between high/low headlamp relay and rear compartment fuse block. After repairs, recheck headlight operation.
  7. Repair suspect wiring. After repairs, recheck headlight operation.
