DTC B1970: Exterior Light Power Fault: Testing

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove parking light relay and headlight relay. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Disconnect PZM connectors. Using DVOM, check resistance between ground and parking light relay terminal A6 (White wire) at trunk compartment relay center No. 5. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step  3 . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Repair short to ground in White wire between parking light relay and PZM. Reconnect all components. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn headlights on. If headlights do not come on, go to step  2 . If headlights come on, system is functioning normally.
