Driver's Seat Functions Inoperative

  1. Perform POWER SEATS SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Disconnect 8-pin connector C315, located under driver's seat. Using DVOM, check voltage between harness connector C315 terminal No. 3 (Red wire) and ground. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to step  4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between power seat switch harness connector C315 terminal No. 3 and PWR SEAT fuse (30-amp) in fuse block, located below and left of steering column. Go to step  7 .
  4. Using DVOM, measure resistance between power seat switch harness connector C315 terminal No. 4 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  6 . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  5. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between power seat switch harness connector terminal No. 4 and ground in left front of engine compartment, below battery tray. Go to step  7 .
  6. Replace power seat switch. See POWER SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  7. Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Recheck system operation. If seat does not operate properly, go to step  1 .
