DTC U1153, Loss Of Serial Communications - CCP: Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Cadillac Seville, 1997 Cadillac Eldorado, and 1997 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If multiple class 2 codes are set as current (i.e., U1300, U1301, U1088 or U1153), check for an intermittent short to ground or battery in Purple wire between individual control modules.
  2. If DTC is current, attempt to establish communications with CCP using scan tool. If communication cannot be established, diagnose and repair problem in A/C system. See A/C SYSTEM GENERAL SERVICING article in AIR CONDITIONING & HEAT section. If communication can be established, replace PZM.
  3. If DTC is history, check for intermittent open in Purple wire between CCP and individual control modules.
