System Will Not Arm Using Left Or Right Front Side Door Lock Switch

  1. Using front inside door lock switch, lock and unlock doors. If door lock operate properly, go to next step. If door locks do not operate properly, repair as necessary. See POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select BODY CONTROL MODULE. Select inputs and DOOR LOCK SWITCH. Lock door(s) using suspect door lock switch. Observe scan tool. If scan tool displays ON, go to next step. If scan tool does not display ON, go to step 4).
  3. Check for intermittent malfunction by cycling door lock switch ON and OFF several times. If problem was found, repair intermittent malfunction between door lock switch and Body Control Module (BCM) and go to SYSTEM CHECK. See POWER DOOR LOCKS article. If no problem was found, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect Brown, 24-pin Body Control Module (BCM) C1 connector. See Figure . Inspect terminal A08 for poor connection. If poor connection was found, repair as necessary and go to SYSTEM CHECK. If a poor connection was found, go to next step.
  5. Check all power and ground circuits to BCM. If circuits are good, replace BCM and go to SYSTEM CHECK.
