Test S: Seat Reclining Functions Operate For One Seat Only

  1. Measure voltage at the suspect connected Recliner Switch.
  2. Measure battery voltage between Recliner Switch terminal A (ORN/BLK) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the voltage is not as specified, check/repair the ORN/BLK (60) wire for an open. Check the in-line connectors for proper terminal contact. See TERMINAL CONTACT CHECK  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  3. Measure battery voltage between Recliner Switch terminals A (ORN/BLK) and E (BLK). If the voltage is not as specified, check/repair the BLK (151) and (152 or 154) wires for an open. Check the in-line connectors for proper terminal contact. See TERMINAL CONTACT CHECK  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  4. Measure battery voltage between Recliner Switch terminals A (ORN/BLK) and B (BLK). If the voltage is not as specified, check/repair the BLK (151) and (152 or 154) wires for an open. Check the in-line connectors for proper terminal contact. See TERMINAL CONTACT CHECK  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  5. Operate the Recliner Switch to FWD and RECLINE and hold.
  6. Measure the battery voltage between Recliner Switch terminals D (LT BLU) and C (LT GRN). If the voltage is not as specified, check the wiring to the suspect Recliner Motor for a short to ground. If OK, replace the Recliner Switch. See POWER RECLINER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  7. If all of the voltages are correct, check the wiring to the suspect Recliner Motor for an open. If OK, replace the suspect Recliner Motor. See POWER RECLINER MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
