PFI Chart A-7, Emissions Control Test

This test checks operation of canister purge valve, AIR valve mode and switches, and EGR valve and control solenoid. This test provides a quick analysis of component operation. For complete diagnosis of each component and its systems, refer to PFI CHART C-3, CANISTER PURGE DIAGNOSIS and PFI CHART C-7, EGR SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS.

NOTE: Test number refers to number on diagnostic chart.

If driveability problems such as hesitation, surge, lack of power, etc. are present, refer to TESTS W/O CODES article in this Section.
