Pcm Code EO20, Open Fuel Pump Circuit (2 Of 3)
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks proper control of fuel pump relay by the PCM.
- Checks open from fuel pump fuse to relay pin No. 4.
- Checks open from relay pin No. 4 to ground.
- Checks continuity the complete fuel pump circuit from fuse No. 2 through the fuel pump windings to ground. Using a test light to jumper contact cavities of the relay connector, test light should illuminate if circuit is okay. If circuit is okay, fuel pump relay is faulty.
- If relay or relay drive circuits are grounded, PCM may be damaged by excessive current draw if battery voltage is greater than 16 volts. Repair fault and check proper operation.
- Fault is most likely at PCM connector or PCM. Before replacing PCM, refer to CHART C-1, PCM REPLACEMENT CHECK.
- Refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
