Test Procedures

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. With sensor or wiring shorted, PCM parameter P.0.4 should read 298°F (148°C) or greater. If not, the sensor is shorted. See NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS.
  2. Checks for shorted sensor or circuit No. 410. If parameter value stays at 288°F (142°C) or greater with sensor unplugged, the short is in circuit No. 410 between sensor pin "B" and PCM terminal "E16".
  3. Fault is most likely at PCM connector or PCM. Before replacing PCM, perform PFI CHART C-1, PCM REPLACEMENT CHECK.
