Introduction To Manual Operation Of Self-diagnostics
When a trouble code chart requests the testing of a component or circuit, it specifies the selection of a specific diagnostic test. This section covers the 3 steps required to select a specific diagnostic test. Each step must be completed in the order presented and no step may be skipped. Briefly stated, the 3-step specific test selection procedure is as follows:
- Step 1: System Selection Selecting the system that monitors the component or circuit to be tested.
- Step 2: Test Type Selection - Selecting the type of test that will be performed.
- Step 3: Specific Test Selection - Selecting the specific component or circuit to be tested.
