Pick-Up Coil

To test Pick-Up Coil:

  1. Remove wiring connector from cap.
  2. Turn four screws and remove cap and coil assembly from lower housing.
  3. Remove rotor and pick-up coil leads from module.
  4. Connect ohmmeter test 1 and then test 2, see Fig 1 .
  5. Observe ohmmeter flex leads by hand to check for intermittent opens.
  6. Test 1 should read infinite at all times.
  7. Test 2 should read steady at one value within 500-1500 ohm range.
  8. If it does not fall within parameters replace Pick-Up Coil.
