Shift Control Cable: Installation

  1. Properly route and position cable. Ensure proper installation of bulk head grommet. Do not twist or sharply bend cable assembly.
  2. Install cable to shifter control stud pin.
  3. Secure carpet.
  4. Install console cover and shifter handle. Assure proper alignment of shifter indicator (part of cover) with shifter.
  5. Install cable end pin to transaxle manual lever and cable housing to bracket.
  6. Adjust the cable. See SHIFT CONTROL CABLE & MANUAL LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT  .
  7. Tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
