Removal Procedure

Remove the right wheel drive shaft. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (FWD with LGX) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (FWD with LHN)
Remove the catalytic converter. Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, FWD) , or Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 1, AWD) , or Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Bank 2)
Remove the transfer case bracket. Transfer Case Bracket Replacement

Disconnect the transfer case vent hose (1) from the transfer case (2).
Disconnect the propeller shaft from the transfer case. Propeller Shaft Replacement
Support the transfer case (2) with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.

Remove and DISCARD the transmission bracket to transfer case bolt (1).

Remove and DISCARD the transfer case-to-transmission bracket bolt (2).
Remove the remaining transfer case retaining bolts (1, 3, 4 5).
Remove the wiring harness bracket from the transfer case.
Separate the transfer case (6) from the transmission and remove the transfer case.

Remove and DISCARD the transfer case-to-transmission O-ring.
