Installation Procedure
- WARNING:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fasteners could cause damage to the vehicle, component, or bodily injury.
Install the rear suspension trailing arm bracket (4) to the rear suspension trailing arm (3). Install the rear suspension trailing arm bracket nut (1) and NEW bolt (2) finger tight.
Before you can tighten the rear suspension trailing arm bracket nut, you must set gap "A". Place a ruler so it is lying flat against the rear suspension trailing arm, the edge (3) is against the bushing, the end (2) is contacting the bracket. Gap "A" should measure 27 mm ± 3 mm (1.06 in ± 0.12) from the lower edge of the rear suspension trailing arm (1) and the rear suspension trailing arm bracket (2).
- Tighten the rear suspension trailing arm bracket nut to:
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 120 to 135 degrees
Install the NEW rear suspension trailing arm bolts (1) to the knuckle. Tighten to:
- First Pass: 160 N.m (118 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 60 to 75 degrees
Install the NEW rear suspension trailing arm bracket bolts (1) (Qty: 4). Tighten to:
- First Pass: 80 N.m (59 lb ft)
- Final Pass: plus 30 to 45 degrees
- Remove the hydraulic transmission jack.
- Install the underbody rear air deflector. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side , or Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side
- Install the rear tire and wheel. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Lower vehicle.
- Inspect the rear trim height. Trim Height Inspection
A soft jawed vise is recommended to complete the next process.
