Installation Procedure

  1. GM4589367
    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

    Install the fuel tank (1) to the hydraulic jack (2).

  2. Raise the fuel tank to its original position. (1)

    Fuel Tank Strap (2) - Install[2x]

    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to: Fastener Caution

  4. Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (3) - Install and tighten[4x]22N.m (16 lb ft)
  5. Lower and remove the hydraulic jack. (1)

    Remove the EN-6015  closure plugs from all connections.

  7. Fuel Feed Pipe - Underbody (1)@Fuel Feed Pipe - Fuel Pump Module to Underbody (2) - Connect - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  8. GM4589365

    Fuel Tank Filler Hose (1) - Connect

  9. Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (6) - Tighten3.5N.m (31 lb in)
  10. Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Wiring Harness (7) - Reposition
  11. Wiring Harness Clip (3, 8, 9) - Install[3x]
  12. Remove the EN-6015  closure plugs from all connections.
  13. Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (5) - Connect - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  14. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pipe (4) - Connect - Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  15. GM4585151

    Rear Suspension Support Front Reinforcement (1) - Install

  16. Rear Cradle Brace Bolt (2) - Hand tighten[2x]
  17. Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (3) - Hand tighten
  18. Rear Cradle Brace Bolt (2) - Tighten[2x]58N.m (43 lb ft)
  19. Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (3) - Tighten160N.m (118 lb ft)
  20. Rear Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side - Install - Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
  21. Fuel Pump Power Control Module - Install - Refer to Fuel Pump Power Control Module Replacement (AWD)  or Fuel Pump Power Control Module Replacement (FWD) 
  22. Install the propeller shaft - Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement
  23. Exhaust Muffler Assembly - Install - Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (2.0L LTG)
  24. Lower the vehicle - Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  25. Connect the battery negative cable - Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION AND CONNECTION (2.0L LTG)
  26. Refill the fuel tank.
  27. Inspect for fuel leaks.
