Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining 
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  4. Remove Two-Piece Propeller Shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement
  5. Remove Exhaust Muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement

  7. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
  8. Disconnect the evaporative emission and fuel pipes (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  10. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).

  12. Disconnect the evaporative emission pipes (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  14. Remove the fuel tank filler hose clamp (1).
  15. Remove the fuel tank filler hose (2).
  16. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  18. Remove the fuel tank bolt (1).

  20. Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.
  21. Remove the fuel tank strap fasteners (1).
  22. Remove the fuel tank straps (2).

  24. Remove the fuel tank (1) from the vehicle.
  25. If replacing fuel tank transfer parts as necessary.
